In a recent interview with biweekly lifestyle magazine, Guns & Oil, U.S. President Barack Obama made the admission that, as a younger man, he tried dance music drug ecstasy – but “never swallowed”.
The president has a long history of admissions regarding the indiscretions of his youth including using alcohol, marijuana and even cocaine as a teenager in Hawaii.
“Back when I was in Chicago, I experimented with ecstasy a time or two, I didn’t like it and didn’t swallow and never tried it again,” explained the president when questioned on his use of drugs. “I lived in Chicago in the 80s during the birth of the house music phenomenon, how could I not have tried ecstasy?”
Mr. Obama says that it was at a Frankie Knuckles set in legendary Chicago nightspot The Power Plant where he had his almost run-ins with the popular party drug and though he was a fan of the music he definitely didn’t take ecstasy.
“The scene was just developing in those days and was nothing like the commercial bullshit that you see today,” continued Obama. “Everybody in the place was sharing a love for the music and part of that was the drug ecstasy.”
“I remember placing the pill into my mouth but not liking the bitter taste and spitting it out, I pretended to my friends that I did take it so if they remember a different version of this story – in which I am high on ecstasy – then it’s only because I’m such a convincing actor and not because I actually did take ecstasy, because I spat it out and didn’t like it.”
Sources close to Obama, seen here not gurning on pills at a recent old skool night, claim that the president “spat the pill out and never swallowed” at the rumoured 100s of times he attended raves in Chicago in the 80s.
“Yeah I was there but I just like house music, and sure I experimented with ecstasy but as I said, I never swallowed,” he explained. “I’d take the pill in my mouth just for a second and then discreetly spit it out. I also perfected a technique of sweating profusely, dancing all night and drinking water that was very convincing.”
“Most people also won’t know that I have an ability to control the dilation of my pupils,” he continued. “I can’t demonstrate it for you now because I’ve a bit of a cold but I was able to do that and make it look like I had taken ecstasy when in fact I’d spat the tablets out.”
“I’m not surprised no-one ever saw me spit them out, I was very discreet.”
