The reunion of influential US DJ duo Deep Dish, composed of Sharam and Dubfire, was reported to have been predicted as far back as the 16th century by famous French seer Nostradamus.
The seer, reputed to be the most famous seer of all time with people speculating that he predicted everything from the 1929 Wall Street Crash, 9/11 and the international success of the James Cameron film Titanic, is said to have predicted the return of the duo.
Deep Dish, seen here in an aquarium made for sculptures in the future, have graciously accepted the plaudits awarded to them as being the only DJ act in history whose reunion was predicted nearly 400 years before it actually took place.
“It’s a compliment that a 16th century crackpot-alchemist-philosopher somehow managed to predict our triumphant return to dance music,” confided Dubfire. “We’ve always felt since we split that a Deep Dish reunion would be the stuff of prophecy and now it is.”
“You look at other band’s who’ve split up and gotten back together over the years and there’ve been some big hitters, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, The Stone Roses,” continued Sharam. “So for Nostradamus to have predicted our return is rather lovely and probably means that we’re better than those bands or at least more culturally relevant.”
A very sketchy ancient text by the French philosopher which roughly translates as “in the year 2014, the US house duo Deep Dish, will reunite having broken up in 2006”, is suspected to indicate the return of the duo.
“It’s tetchy, that sentence has so many possible meanings and could point to any number of things so it’s not with complete confidence that we can say it’s definitely talking about Deep Dish getting back together, but it’s certainly a possibility,” claimed Nostradamus expert, Arnold Cumber.
Other musical predictions that Nostradamus is believed to have made include the death and subsequent rebirth of disco, the re-release of Roland TR8 and a Kanye West/Susan Boyle collaboration that has not yet happened but may occur sometime is 2015.
