Belgian EDM duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike have announced that they are to star in an EDM themed Bollywood movie in an attempt to crack India’s ever growing EDM industry.
The brothers, recently named as runners up in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, have agreed a seven figure deal to star in, co-write and co-produce the muti-million dollar movie.
Production on Ḍānsa Phlōra Para Bahādura Igala Hārṭa Aja Rāta Jīta, which translates to English as Brave Eagle Man On Dance Floor Wins Heart Of Forever Love Tonight, is set to begin early next year, coinciding with the duo’s proposed Indian tour.
“I can speak for both of us when I say we are really excited about the movie,” claimed Like Mike, real name Michael Thivaios, at a recent press conference. “Everything about this movie is brilliant, especially us and the wages we’re getting.”
“We’re obviously really motivated by money and as soon as they told us what we’d be earning and how much work we’d have to do we were all over it. We signed on the dotted line there and then,” continued Dimitri. “It’s going to be nearly as easy as DJing, it’s really hard to believe there are poor people in the world when guys like us can make money so easily.”
“The script is really beautiful in its simplicity,” commented Mike in a manner that almost seemed like he knew what he was talking about. “Basically we kidnap an orphaned baby, which actually represents the ancient Bhakti god of love. Once we have the baby there’s a song and a dance, then a gorgeous maiden follows us from Dehli to Kerala in the form of a three legged cat. Once we arrive in Kerala she shows herself in her natural form and we have a song and a dance.”
“Then we go to a nightclub and we’re transformed into giant eagles, with laser shooting eyes and we have a song and a dance,” explained Mike in stunning high definition detail. “Once we’ve taken on the form of eagles and we can fly we’re ready to fight the dragon. We slay him but instead of dying he turns into a goat and we cook him in a madras, eat him and take his powers.”
“Then we have another two or three songs and dances, get the girls, realise our life’s dream of becoming DJs, reunite the baby with its reincarnated mother, free two thousand Bengali slaves and everyone lives happily ever after.”
“It’s kind of a modern day Dr. Zhivago,” added Dimitri.
Unconfirmed reports from India suggesting David Guetta was set to make a guest appearance as the dragon in the movie have been rubbished after executive producer Vijay Anand said “we’re looking for a fire breathing dragon not a shit talking Frenchman”.
