Disclosure’s Space Ibiza Shows To Be Babysat By Mum
The mother of Disclosure brothers, Howard (19) and Guy Lawrence (22), has insisted that she will be present to oversee the group’s upcoming summer shows at Space in Ibiza to make sure they don’t get “led astray” by the famously hedonistic party island.
“I’m delighted with the boys success,” beamed Mrs. Lawrence, “and I’m happy for them to play shows all over the world, but I draw the line at letting them go and play in Ibiza unsupervised, so that’s why I’ll be at the shows to chaperon the night.”
“They’re my little angels,” gushed Mrs. Lawrence. “I know the kind of debauchery that goes on in Ibiza so I’m going to be there to protect them from all that. They’re the darlings of the industry right now and everyone wants a piece of them. I don’t want them falling in with the wrong crowd, plus Paris Hilton will have her residency on the island at the same time so I’m afraid she might try corrupt them and ruin their careers the way Yoko Ono split up the Beatles or Katie Price derailed the careers of both Gareth Gates and Dane Bowers.”
Mrs. Lawrence claimed that she would position herself in the DJ booth for the duration of the boys’ shows and will insist on a “no groupies” policy as well as ensuring that the shows go on “no later than midnight” and that “the boys are in their pajamas with their teeth brushed by 1.am”.
“If they break curfew or any of the rules I’ve set down then they will be sent to bed without supper and won’t be allowed out to play any more gigs until they’ve learnt their lesson,” she added.
The baby faced duo have responded angrily to their mother’s overprotective stance claiming that “she’s not the boss of us” and that “it’s not fair” while insisting that they should be allowed stay up late because “Sam Smiths’s mum lets him stay up even on schoolnights”.
Mrs. Lawrence concluded by saying that her being at the gigs is “for their own good”, before asking the boys “if Sam Smith jumped off a cliff would they do it too?”
The boys refused to decline verbally to their mother, but slammed the door to their shared bedroom really hard as an act of youthful defiance.
Other parents who have insisted on babysitting their child performers include Afeni Shakur, Slipknot’s parents and Marvin Gaye Sr.
