A group of concerned DJs are set to go on strike after a popular nightclub banned the use of late 90’s dance anthems.
Club bosses have confirmed that DJs will now be forced to make more of an effort during their sets and will no longer be able to rely on sentimental nostalgia to win over audiences.
The group of DJs, headed by Denis Sulta, believe the ban is a direct violation of their human rights and have claimed they will strike for “extended periods of up to 60 minutes” to have the ban overruled.
“It’s just not right,” claimed one concerned DJ. “People like Denis and myself have built our entire reputations on playing cheesy classics that everyone knows because their big brothers played them to death when they were kids.”
“If they take classics away from us, we’re nothing more than boring generic tunes, tribal tattoos and over whitened teeth.”
According to reports, DJs are set to picket nightclubs up and down the country this weekend.
One club manager claimed, “We’ll just use iPods instead, at least they won’t ask us for ridiculous guestlists, sniff a load of ket and empty the place with badly mixed 90’s anthems.”
