While cult fans of the hit AMC series The Walking Dead are mourning the conclusion of Season 4, a wave of excitement has recently come over supporters of underground dance music regarding the show. It has been rumored that chrome black techno don Ali ‘Dubfire’ Shirazinia and minimal kingpin Ricardo Villalobos will each make cameo appearances as ‘walkers’ in the Season 5 premiere.
Show runners have been pressured to go bigger and wilder with makeup and costume design. “We’ve run out of ways to differentiate our zombie extras- there are only so many ways to paint a face,” states head makeup artist Julianna Wildchild, “We need a new breed of zombie, one that really represents the undead culture even before the makeup is applied”. So it only seemed fitting when writer Damian Forrester, a lifelong househead, suggested they recruit a handful of next season’s antagonists from the techno underworld.
Renowned make up artists for the show were relieved to find that Dubfire and Ricardo needed almost no make up, having showed up for their screening just hours after a lengthy stint at Time Warp. “They had the walk down already, with close to no rehearsal” said one production assistant for the show.
“We truly feel Dubfire’s rag-based clothing and Ricardo’s substance induced demeanor will be a perfect fit amongst our new wave of Zombies” said Mr. Forrester. Ricardo’s natural walk (or stumble) was the talk of the set, gaining immediate recognition and support from some of the more seasoned zombie cast members.
The excitement was so palpable that drug policy agreements were redistributed to all cast and crewmembers to prevent any unwanted behavior off the screen. Despite all of this, rumors swirled about an after hours soirée that lasted nearly 32 hours, in which both artists played back to back in one of their trailers.
No word yet on whether Ali or Ricardo will be providing an original track for the show. If it does in fact happen, one can expect some proper post-apocalyptic techno from the duo.
