A young DJ/producer has today spoken about his anguish after his father stole his decks before becoming a DJ himself and sleeping with his 22 year old girlfriend.
Twenty-four year old James Harrison told Wunderground how his father had bought him a set of used Technics 1200 Mk2s as a graduation present, but claims that it wasn’t long before his father was using the decks himself, as well as James’s girlfriend Mandy.
“I had the decks a couple of months, but still hadn’t been able to find work because I’d been spending so much time practicing DJing,” claimed James, originally from Birmingham but now based in Manchester, where he moved to avoid the shame of what has happened. “So Dad got angry, took my decks and told me I could only have them back when I found a job.”
James claims that his father, who is now divorced from his mum, Eileen, after what has happened, began playing on the decks himself and became enamoured with the possibility of becoming a middle aged DJ after witnessing the “hedonistic lifestyle that older DJs like Danny Tenaglia and Brandon Block enjoy”.
“He was going through a bit of a mid life crisis so he started playing the decks and dressing like a DJ with slicked side parted hair and a v-neck tee with ankle exposing jeans,” he continued. “Pretty soon after that he got really good and started getting gigs and became something of a local hit.”
James says he doesn’t deny that his cheating dad is a good DJ, praising his father’s work ethic and dedication, but says that he’ll never speak to him again after he slept with his girlfriend.
“I went off to bed early one night when dad was having some people back after a set,” he continued “Mandy stayed up and was enjoying the party so I thought nothing of it, but when I came down for a drink of water a few hours later they were going at it on the couch. It was disgusting, he was still in his socks and he had a slightly bigger, and weirdly younger, looking penis than I do.”
“I enjoy watching inter-age porn as much as the next man,” he added, “but not when it’s your own dad. I screamed at them to stop, but they kept on going. I left then and haven’t seen or spoken to either since.”
“It’s like no matter what age you are or how ugly and decrepit your penis is, if you’re good at mixing and wear hipster DJ clothes then suddenly you’re attractive,” added a visibly upset James, who says that he’ll never try to DJ again and can’t even listen to the song ‘Daddy Cool’ without bursting into tears.
James says that his dad’s indiscretion has ruined his family life and his parents’ marriage, but that his now separated Mum is picking up the pieces of what has happened and has started seeing a much younger man, “a local graffiti artist who produces dubstep and grime under the moniker, Motherfucker, who used to beat me up in school,” concluded James.
