A Japanese woman has shocked her entire community by growing an “incredible beard”, according to Wunderground’s Asian correspondent Taki Hideaki.
Suki Aoki, from the remote village of Takayama, is believed to have grown the beard in protest against the village’s male population after they refused to let any women control the music at the town’s annual festival.
According to our correspondent, Ms Aoki now has the best beard in the village and has become somewhat of a local celebrity.
“There are currently a lot of very jealous men in Takayama,” confirmed Hideaki. “The level of beard on display among the male population here is quite poor, it looks like the village is full of wrinkled schoolboys with pubes Pritt Sticked to their faces so it’s easy to see why they are upset with Ms Aoki.”
“A lot of the women around the village have taken to wearing fake beards in support of their heroine,” continued the reporter. “While it’s too early to tell if Ms Aoki’s beard will make any difference to the future of the village one thing that is for certain is that she has a lovely beard. Taki Hideaki, Takayama.”
Sixty year old male villager Hiro Suzuki also spoke to Wunderground, “I will admit Ms Aoki does have a lovely beard but it won’t make any difference when it comes to selecting music at next year’s festival. We didn’t stop her from putting on music because she was a girl, we stopped her because the music she plays is shit.”
Rumours from Miami suggest that American EDM star Steve Aoki has invited his namesake to join him as a special guest on his upcoming tour. It is believed Ms Aoki will be given one hour of training on the decks, the same as Mr Aoki, before being expected to perform as a DJ.
