Movie giants, Warner Brothers, have confirmed both Morgan Freeman and Samuel L Jackson are in the running to star as Carl Cox in the Hollywood blockbuster, Oh Yes Oh Yes, which is due to hit cinema’s in 2017.
A film dedicated to the life and success of the world famous DJ has been earmarked as the “blockbuster” of next year; yet Director, Tim Burton, is believed to be in a “total state of flux” over which direction he wants to go with the lead role, claiming both Freeman and Jackson would do a “stand up job” of playing the most loveable man in music, if chosen.
“This is a real fucking pain for me,” announced Burton. “In all my movies I just pick Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in lead roles. Neither would be able to capture the true essence of Cox – being as they are both a little bit gothic and very fucking weird, prompting me to look elsewhere. We did consider black-facing Helena, but she wasn’t up for it.”
Wunderground managed to speak to Morgan Freeman about the possible opportunity to play such a sought after role, “It would be a true honour,” he calmly told us. “He is a genuine inspiration to millions and I would go out of my way to do justice to his character. I have already started working on getting into the stereotypical ‘dance music’ frame of mind, just in case I get the role. Last week I spent seven hours in Berghain, Germany. I took a couple of pills and got involved.”
“I’ve narrated a Penguin movie, starred in The Shawshank Redemption, Seven and Batman, yet nothing prepared me for how fucking brilliant going to a rave would be. No wonder Carl is so happy all the bloody time. That was the best experience of my life. If I don’t get the role of playing Carl in the movie, I might just become a DJ anyway.”
