Not One Person At East London Rave Actually From East London

A young lad was left “confused” after going to his first East London rave, only to find there wasn’t a single person from East London in attendance.

Twenty one year old Josh Fitzgerald, from Oxford, England, is said to have seen “more people from his hometown” off their nut in a dirty East London warehouse, than he does on a bog-standard night out in the Oxford Wetherspoons. Leaving him questioning if there are any “actual Londoners” left in London.

“I was expecting a bunch of people off their tits chatting cockney rhyming slang,” laughed Josh. “I thought the venue would be packed out with a proper decent mixture of the Eastenders cast and the crew from a Kano music video. When I realised every person was either from Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Cambridgeshire or Buckinghamshire, I was well disappointed. I even overheard a girl from where I live refer to herself a Londoner, just because she’s rented a flat in Hackney for the past three months. Tragic.”

Wunderground asked Josh why he was so focused on the people at the rave rather than the music, “We do have raves back in Oxford but a serious lack of people in the area,” he confirmed. “Last week, John Digweed played to thirteen ravers and three dogs. It was a good night but a bit empty. There’s about a billion people in London and the parties always look crazy, so that’s why I came down. Guess it turns out it’s all those cunts from my town who make it fun and vibrant down here. Oxford boys la la la, Oxford boys, la la la. Reppin’ our endz with the Eastside massive. See, I could fit in around here.”

Too old to go to raves, too young to retire from them. Where does that leave me? Writing for Wunderground.
