Legendary BBC Radio One presenter Pete Tong’s voice is now available for illegal download on the popular file sharing website Zippyshare.
Tong, best known for being rhyming slang for the word ‘wrong’, has forged a successful career presenting the long running Essential Mix show based entirely on the silky tones of his voice.
Reports indicate that Tong’s voice has now been downloaded over twenty five thousand times and can be heard in cities and towns all over the United Kingdom.
“It’s really weird walking around town and hearing Pete Tong’s voice everywhere,” explained Patrick Harris from Scunthorpe. “It’s a lot nicer than hearing a Scunthorpe accent but there’s just something a little unsettling about hearing Pete Tong’s voice coming out of a seventy five year old woman or fourteen year old school girl’s mouth.”
“I kind of feel sorry for Pete Tong now,” continued Mr. Harris, a forty year taxi driver. “I listen to Radio One all the time when I’m out driving and most of the presenters and DJs are total numptys. Pete Tong was a bit different, mostly because his voice was nice to listen to, but now that you can download his voice he’s just another bloke, like me or Caitlyn Jenner.”
According to sources close to Tong, the DJ is said to devastated by the appearance of his voice on Zippyshare and is planning on filing a legal case against the site’s administrators.
“Pete’s broken hearted,” claimed fellow Radio One presenter Annie Mac. “His voce was all he really had, we’ve been inundated with callers who sound just like him for the past few days, some of them are probably more qualified to do his job than he is. I don’t know what he’s going to do, he’ll probably need to get voice coaching, learn how to speak in a regional accent and settle for a position on Radio Five.”
Unconfirmed reports suggest that Tong’s voice is just one of a number of Radio DJs’ voices that are set to be made available for Download, although so far his and Chris Moyles’s are the only two to be released. As of now no one has downloaded Chris Moyles’s voice because he sounds like an absolute bell end.
