The music world is rejoicing today after legendary DJ duo Sasha and Digweed today announced that they were getting back together.
Fans however were disappointed to discover that the former DJing couple were only reforming to enjoy a movie and a bottle of Rioja as both of them take time out of their busy touring schedules.
“I think when they broke up it caused a bit of a rift among fans, some sided with Sasha while others went with Diggers. It was quite acrimonious to be honest, splitting up a fanbase like that,” explained a source close to the duo. “No fan wants to have to choose between their heroes. Both sets though always harboured hopes that they’d one day reform and do another mix album together.”
The source claims that Sasha and Digweed have recently been texting each other and while the texts haven’t touched on reuniting they have decided to become friends again to see where things go.
“This is the next best thing, who knows, after the movie and wine they’ll probably have a bit of a fool around on the decks and discover their old magic,” claimed one fan, Gordon Lewis who, like millions of fans says Northern Exposure changed his life. “The main point is that they don’t bicker and fall into the old habits that made them divorce in the first place.”
“Although a movie and a bottle of wine sends a clear message of what they’re both hoping for,” he added.
Reports close to the two claim that the movie is believed to be the new Minions movie which Sasha got on pirate off of Charlie May who is apparently a huge fan of the cute little yellow bastards.
“It’s a movie and a bottle of wine, which is basically code for couch sex, or in the case of former DJ partners, B2B 5 hour bedroom set,” insisted one excited fan who sees the date as proof of a reunion. “They’ll defo be a touring partnership before the week is out, or at least making plans to meet up for a coffee. It could be a slow process but this is the first tentative move.”
Sasha and Digweed both declined to comment but a spokesperson for the duo said they’d like some time and privacy to see “if this feels right”.
