A report issued by the International Music Producers & Jokes Foundation has revealed that techno producers are ninety nine percent less likely to laugh at fart jokes.
The news has come as quite a shock to techno producers, who see themselves as “funny guys” but admit that they are reticent to show public acts of emotion, particularly when representing the “techno community”.
Wunderground spoke to techno producer and Drumcode label boss Adam Beyer about the reports claims, “I’m very surprised to hear those results. Techno people are some of the happiest and funniest people you’re ever likely meet. You might not see it on the outside but deep down there’s a giggling schoolgirl inside all of us.”
“Just last week I was producing some music with my good friend Cari Lekebusch,” continued Beyer, who was dressed head to toe in black. “He’s a real hoot! We were compressing some beats and he let a massive fart rip. He turned to me and said ‘do you think we could compress a fart’ and I found it hilarious. I obviously didn’t laugh, or even smile, because I didn’t want to compromise my cool exterior but inside I was in hysterics.”
“I also know for a fact that Dave Clarke loves a good fart joke,” revealed Beyer, who was wearing sun glasses despite being inside at night. “You can’t share a DJ box with him without him asking you to ‘pull his finger’ at least once. Although, I think there’s probably a pretty good chance that he’s part of the one percent who actually would laugh at a fart joke. Now that I think about it, half of what he says are fart jokes and he’s always laughing at them, even when they’re his own.”
The report also claimed that deep house producers are more likely to laugh at jokes about someone’s mother than producers of any other genres, while EDM producers struggle to understand any form of jokes but are likely to laugh at “rude words written on walls” and “pictures of giant cocks”.
