Dutch superstar DJ, Tiësto, was rushed to hospital on Saturday night after knocking himself out when headbutting an LED screen, believed to have been of the DJ’s own reflection, and suffering a concussion as he went on stage at San Diego’s SAP Centre.
Although the stage was cloaked in darkness and videos released by TMZ show little of the incident reports emerging from Tiësto’s camp claim that the DJ was making his way on stage when he “noticed a TV screen of his own reflection” and immediately lost control and headbutted it, knocking himself clean out.
It is believed that the Adagio For Strings trance star thought that the reflection was a clone or doppelganger of the DJ who Tiësto believes is out to “steal his soul and replace him” and it is for this reason that he attacked it.
“Tiësto has gone through something of a mental breakdown in recent months through the stress of touring for hefty pay checks,” claimed a spokesperson, “the obvious stress of this well paid dream job has led to increasingly erratic behaviour which has most recently manifested itself in a belief that there is a kind of body snatcher clone of himself out there trying to kill him and take his place as one of the world’s top DJs.”
The source says that Tiësto thought that the LED screen containing his image was this doppelganger come to kill him. “He was a bit hysterical when he came to from the knock out blow,” continued the source. “He was babbling that the other-Tiësto was giving him the finger, calling him a dickbag and saying he was coming to get him, so he responded by headbutting ‘him’ as hard as he could, little realising that it was only a TV screen of his own image.”
Tiësto is said to be resting up and recuperating from his injuries while a team of psycho-analysts treat him for the stress related hysteria that has caused him to believe that there is a doppelganger out to get him but took time to show his fans that his spirits remain high by jokingly tweeting that he took the “American expression ‘go knock yourself out’ a little too literally”.
“For the time being he won’t be playing any more shows and is receiving round the clock care from a team of people whose job it is to make sure and keep him away from any mirrors or reflective surfaces lest this happens again,” concluded the source. “It’s been touch and go, at one point a magazine with his picture on the cover was left on a coffee table in the room, and before we could remove it, Tiësto saw it and started attacking it while crying and only relented when four men wrestled him to the ground, sedated him and removed the magazine to have it destroyed.”

oh god this place is hilarious xDD
