Young DJ Surprises Everyone By Not Being A Cocky Prick

Dance music fans were shocked to discover that an up and coming London DJ, Alan Barnett, who has opened for some big name acts and is generating buzz online, is a reasonably down to earth person and “not a prick”.

Several acquaintances have come forward to account for the shocking news that the young DJ is “being nice to people” and “not being an arrogant, self involved, pretentious shitbag”.

“I know in my heart that most up and coming DJs are just people and not pricks,” explained music fan Alex Fisher who has met Alan on numerous occasions, “but I think the expectation for them to be cocky arseholes is so ingrained into the fabric of society that when they turn out to be perfectly amiable it comes as something of a shock like finding out that a convicted criminal is nice to his Mum or that Hitler loved his dog.”

“Unlike other DJs Alan is talkative and genial to everyone he meets rather than just nice to people who he thinks can further his career, which is refreshing,” continued Alex. “When we first met I congratulated him on a set well done, his eyes lit up and he shook my hand and thanked me effusively. I offered to buy him a drink, but he bought me one instead. Then we had an in depth conversation before he left early to spend the following day helping old ladies cross roads.”

Any promoter who has worked with him claimed that he was earnestly self depreciating with “no ego whatsoever” and insisted that he was always there to support the club night even on nights when he wasn’t playing. “It’s quite a rare thing to see a young DJ, especially one that is getting notice, resist temptation to a be a preening cocky prick, it’s almost unheard of.”

However not everyone believes that Alan is the “sound lad” that people are insisting he is with one acquaintance questioning whether his nice guy demeanor is just an act.

“Well I don’t trust him,” offered a suspicious fellow DJ Justin Wright. “When you start hearing stories of a DJ being genuinely nice as well as easy to deal with, you’ve got to think that it’s an act to hide how much of a prick he really is, being humble and appreciative my bollocks.”

“No-one can be that perfect, he probably hates gay people or doesn’t believe the Holocaust happened,” concluded Justin. “I’ve no proof for that, but it could easily be true. I bet he goes home at night and laughs at how he has fooled everyone into thinking he’s someone he’s not, like a DJing Keyzor Soze.”
