Space Closing Fiesta To Last All Winter In Bid To Keep Club Open Indefinitely
Following the news that Space will shut its doors for the very last time when this year’s closing fiesta concludes, a selection of high profile DJ’s on the line-up have vowed to “keep the party going” right through to next summer in a bid to keep the club from closing.
Maceo Plex, Nic Fanciulli, Darius Syrossian, Anja Schneider, Josh Wink, Steve Bug, Kölsch, Eats Everything, Brandon Block, David Morales, Erick Morillo and Sasha have vowed to play the longest B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B set Space has ever seen, as a way to stop the club transforming into a “Ushuaia EDM cringe-fest”, which, coincidentally, is what the club will officially be renamed.
“If the party doesn’t stop, then they can’t close Space down can they,” announced a buoyant Maceo Plex. “This is the most famous club in the world and each and every one of us wants it to stay open. It is part of Ibiza’s heritage and we will do what we can to ensure the party continues past Halloween, through Bonfire Night, into Christmas and New Year, throughout Valentine’s Day, beyond Easter right into next summer’s opening fiesta.”
“We found a loophole in the contract which states the club only legally becomes Ushuaia EDM Cringe-Fest when the last punter exits the club known as Space,” claimed an extremely giddy Morillo. “With this in mind, we are simply going to barricade the doors and keep the music going. We believe there will be some party animals out there who possess the stamina to join us on this eight month long rave.”
“Refreshments in the form of water, tea, coffee, ketamine, cocaine, ecstasy, as well as beds and sleeping bags, will be provided for those who choose to join us on this epic adventure. We will be handing out Christmas presents on the 25th December too,” concluded Morillo.
Wunderground spoke to Jenny Davis, who works as a ticket seller in Playa d’en Bossa, “There are hundreds of us well up for supporting this campaign,” she said excitedly. “My parents will be a bit bummed that I won’t be home for winter, but we all have our calling in life and this is definitely mine. It is all very simple – nobody leaves the club. It will be like the best hostage situation ever. My plan to see it through is to take so much ket that I go into an eight month K-hole.”
