A report released today has expressed the observation that nobody over the age of 30 is quite sure what trap music actually is.
“I first became aware of the term trap music when I saw it written about online, but until then I’d never actually heard it, and have never listened to any of it yet, I’m not quite sure I know what it is. They say it’s an offshoot of hip hop.”
Sam claims that it’s not that he doesn’t like trap, it’s just that he physically can’t get into it, being as he is over 30 and not a feckless teen blogger.
People were surveyed about trap music resulting in everyone over 30 asking “what?” when the question “do you like trap music” was put to them.
“I don’t know or want to know how it sounds because I find it mildly annoying, all I know is it’s one of those genres that people will claim to like despite only knowing two songs of it,” he added. “I’m sure it’ll die a death as soon as every popstar alive includes a trap-inspired song on their albums. Perhaps written by one of the leading lights of the scene, whoever the fuck they are.”
“I love trap music, I’m 29 so I get it,” added one fan. “I’m not looking forward to my 30th birthday though when, by magic, I’ll have forgotten everything I know about it and express misgivings as to its validity as a genre.”
