Conjoined Twins “In Pieces” After Being Incorrectly Billed To Play “Back To Back” Set

It was reported today that conjoined twins, Jack and Jeff Chulkhurst, are to take their promoters to court over the billing of their DJ set as “Back to Back.”

In a statement issued late last night the twins said, “We played gigs as a duo for many years. This event was meant to consist of two solo gigs that we just happened to be playing in a row in the same club while standing next to each other behind the decks. There was never any mention of a ‘Back to Back’ set.”

The company responsible for the gaffe, Face to Face Promotions, responded by saying, “What were we meant to think? They’re literally standing back to back.”

Jack, who is the public face of the twins, responded by saying that they had made clear that it was a solo venture on both their parts. They had once described themselves as “inseparable”, however due to a difference in musical tastes they have disbanded their project, “Janus Horribilis,” and both have decided to pursue solo careers.

In an attempt to settle out of court, a preliminary hearing was held this morning, however, due to the fraught nature of the exchange that followed, it appears that the case may have to be taken further.

This transcript of the exchange between the duo and the promoters was leaked to the press:

Promoters: “We mistakenly billed it as a ‘Back to Back’ set and we apologise for any undue upset caused by this error.  We realise both men are individuals and as such, the inaccurate billing may have been offensive to some.”

Jack Chulkhurst: “We’re not joined at the hip.”

Promoters: “No, but you are joined at the back.”

After this exchange, the conjoined twins attempted to turn their backs on the promoters, however this proved more difficult than first anticipated due to the fact that one of them was facing the promoters at any one time. Face to Face promotions then accused the twins of being “two-faced”, to which they both replied in harmonic unison “No, we’re not.” It was at this juncture that it was decided that negotiations had broken down and that legal action was the only course of action left open to the twins.

The case of Face to Face versus Back to Back is due to be heard by District Attorney Dent at the end of this month.
