Techno DJs To Wear White T-Shirts For Charity

A group of techno DJs have announced that they are set to do the unthinkable and wear white t-shirts at a charity event next month.

Techno For Humanity, held at the Recreational Lake De Ster, St Niklaas, Belgium, will take place on 15 April and will raise some much needed money for charities such as Mobile School, Animal Rights België & Nederland, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life and Brabo Fonds.

Festival headliner Amelie Lens spoke with Wunderground earlier today, “It’s true, myself and about four or five other techno DJs have decided to make the ultimate sacrifice and wear white t-shirts for an entire day at Techno For Humanity. I actually can’t believe I’ve agreed to do this but it’s for charity so I’ll just have to put my own personal opinion on t-shirts that aren’t black aside for one day.”

“I’ve been having a recurring dream, well it’s more of a nightmare actually, where I’m due to play a show but somebody has dyed all of my black t-shirts white,” Lens continued. “I’m really nervous so I do that thing where you imagine everyone in the audience is in their underwear, only when I look up, they’re all wearing white t-shirts too, it’s really terrifying. Hopefully, by actually wearing a tightey whitie for an entire day, I’ll finally come to terms with my t-shirt phobia.”

Lens will be joined on the EXHALE stage at Techno For Humanity by fellow techno artists Pan-Pot, Marcel Fengler, Parallx, Gary Beck and Farago, all of whom will be wearing white.

“People really shouldn’t underestimate what these DJs are doing,” claimed festival spokesperson Matt de Pauw. “Leading members of the techno high council, including Richie Hawtin and Adam Beyer, have warned them not to do it or they’ll face being removed from the techno circle of trust but, in the name of charity, they’re going to do it anyway, these really are some of the bravest DJs in the world.”

According to our sources, other DJs appearing at Techno For Humanity include, Seth Troxler, who has agreed to keep his pants on for the entire festival, Dubfire, who will eat an 82 inch deep dish pizza, Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo, who will be playing a Spice Girls tribute set and Eats Everything, who will be on a twenty four hour fast.

If you would like to come along and see some techno DJs outside their comfort zone, or even just party and dance to some excellent music in a lovely environment, click here for more information and tickets.

All profits made by Techno For Humanity will be donated to charity projects chosen by artists, partners and sponsors. So, what are you waiting for? Get your ticket now or even make a donation with a guest ticket.
