Sinead O’Connor Converts To Tech House DJ
Sinead O’Connor is reportedly set for her second major reinvention in as many weeks after announcing that she is now converting to being a tech house DJ.
Just days after shocking her fans by converting to Islam, the Irish singer has revealed that she has had a change of heart after realising she would not be able to eat bacon under the boundaries of her new religion.
“The whole Islam thing was just a phase I went through for a few days there,” O’Connor told Wunderground earlier. “I got into it because I really liked the clothes, having no hair my head does be freezing so the hijab seemed kinda perfect for me but then I found out I couldn’t have rashers, I should have known it was too good to be true.”
“I tried to make it work by eating turkey rashers but, to be honest with you, they’re shite,” continued the singer. “It had been seven hours and fifteen days since I’d had real bacon and nothing compares to pork. So, in the end, I decided to just cut my losses and move on to the next phase of my life which, I’m delighted to announce, is as a tech house DJ.”
According to reports, O’Connor has already signed a ten-track deal with Solardo’s label, Sola, and is likely to be given a residency in Ibiza next summer, as well as a headline slot at WE ARE FSTVL in May.”
“Things are moving really quickly for me,” she confirmed. “I’m going out every night and sleeping all day. Eating in fancy restaurants and putting my arms around every boy I see. It’s just what the doctor ordered, I’m trying to have fun no matter what I do. I should have done this years ago, I’m having the time of my life.”
In related news, French DJ Tchami is believed to interested in collaborating with O’Connor on a Latin mass, more on this as we get it.
