Following on from his critically acclaimed Boiler Room set filmed in his local chip shop, Bristol based DJ Eats Everything has reportedly begged We Are FSTVL organisers to let him play his set at this year’s festival from the back of a burger van.

Eats Everything, real name Dan Pearce, claims that the added aroma of “hot grease and frying beef” complements his music and adds an extra dimension to his sets.

“After the chip shop gig last year it became apparent that the one thing the majority of my sets were missing was a fast food setting,” explained the DJ. “I really like my sets to be layered, like an onion ring, and performing in some sort of restaurant automatically adds a number of extra layers; there’s the smell, the option to buy some food, additional complimentary condiments and, of course, there’s the element of danger that comes with working in a kitchen environment.”

“This summer I’m really going to be pushing the restaurant gigs,” continued Pearce, considered by many to be Bristol’s finest export since Joseph Fry made the world’s first chocolate bar in 1847. “I’m going to see how things go in the Burger Bear van at We Are FSTVL at the end of May and if it works out I’ll be making it a contractual requirement that all of my festival gigs will be held in a portable restaurant.”

“I’m also thinking about adding a bit of a Steve Aoki element to my sets,” he surprisingly claimed. “I’m not going to be smashing cakes into people’s faces or anything like that, that’s just a waste, but I will be passing small portions of chips and burgers out to the crowd for the duration of my set. It’s very important to remember to eat at festivals and this way I’ll be keeping the crowd energised and showcasing my talents ahead of a new project I’m working on for next year, Cooks Everything, a music based celebrity chef cooking show.”

“People have been asking me if it’s not a bit cramped doing a DJ set from the back of a burger van but, honestly, some of these mobile kitchens nowadays are actually bigger, cleaner and smell a hell of a lot better than some of the night clubs I’ve been playing in recently;” revealed Pearce, who is also negotiating a summer residency from the Papizza stall on Space Ibiza’s Sunset Terrace. “You could nearly live in one of them, actually, that wouldn’t be a bad idea, I must have a word with my management about that.”

According to Eats Everything’s booking agent, the DJ will refuse any offers he receives to play in gluten free, paleo or vegan restaurants, as he “doesn’t agree with any of that hipster food fad nonsense.”
