The world’s largest online music store, Beatport, have today announced the introduction of a brand new genre which is sure to start a lot of debates in the music industry.
Topical house, which is being championed by the outspoke DJ Seth Troxler, will become an active category on Beatport within a matter of days.
“It’s very politically charged music,” Troxler told Wunderground earlier. “There are no actaul political slogans or ideals incorporated into the music but you can pretty much relate any topical house track to anything that is going on around the globe at the time you listen to it so it’s pretty much the most current and on point genre around.”
“I’ve actually got an entire back catalogue of topical house that I’ve been sitting on and waiting to release for years,” he continued. “I think now, in this crazy, fucked up time we’re living in, is the perfect time to let the world now about topical house, people are going to be able to relate to this stuff in so many ways.”
“I made a track a couple of years ago using a sample of a mother orca with a suckling calf,” revealed the Tuskegee label boss. “I think it’s really going to be well received because, when you think about it, it’s like a direct reflection of Trump’s America and, even on a larger global scale, it actually quite an accurate statement about claimate change and popular culture. I love this music.”
According to a normal bloke, he really likes some of the topical house tracks he has heard while others really aggravate him.
“I heard this one topical house track and I really got it, even though there were no lyrics in it, I really agreed with its message,” the average guy told us. “But then I heard another one and, for no particular reason, it made me want to smash my speakers and punch a hole in the wall, the weirdest thing was, I listened to it about eight time in a row. What’s that all about?”
