Google Set To Team Up With Numark And Launch ‘Game Changing’ Youtube Controller

Google have today announced plans that they are to move into the world of digital DJing and release a brand new, Youtube compatable, DJ controller.
The new project, produced in conjunction with electronics manufacturer, Numark, is set to hit the shelves in Spring 2014. The controller will be based on the ultra compact and portable, Numark Mixtrack Edge, pictured above, which was released earlier this year. However, the real power behind this controller lies in the brand new DJing sofware, Youmix, which will work exclusively with this product.
Google spokesperson, Mick Stemtracks, spoke about their latest venture, “We are super excited about the upcoming release of our first ever DJ controller. Here at Google we’re keen to control every facet of people’s lives so when we became aware of the EDM explosion and the interest in making DJing easy we naturally wanted to engage with that market. This project has been in the pipeline since we acquired Youtube in 2006 so a lot of work has gone into the development of this product, it’s going to be a real game changer!”
“We’ve teamed up with Numark on this because we believe that with their years of experience in the industry and our cutting edge software, we can produce the ultimate controller for DJs of any level, be they a legend and innovator like Jeff Mills or someone with no experience of mixing and DJing, like Paris Hilton,” explained Mr. Stemtracks. “We really like the design of the Mixtrack Edge so we’ve gone with something very similar. We’ll have four channels on our new controller and we’ll also be upgrading the effects machine and including a built in sound card and audio interface. So all you’ll have to do is plug it in and it’s ready to play,” he continued. “No talent or knowledge of dance music is necessary. Whether you’re a tone deaf aging grandmother or a learning disabled teenager now you too can mix like all your EDM heroes pretend to.”
“The real piéce de résistance with this controller is the Youmix software that we’ve developed. This will allow users to take tracks directly from Youtube onto their controllers. This eliminates the need to download, convert or buy any music, the software does everything. All you have to do is press play and you’ll instantly have WAV quality sound for anything you can find on Youtube,” he explained enthusiastically.
Youmix also comes with a unique unmix option which allows users to rip individual tracks straight out of mixes. Mr Stemtracks explains, “The unmix function is something we’ve been working really hard on. This will allow you to take single tracks out of your favourite mixes. The software is able to differentiate between individual tracks in the mix,” he explained.
“It doesn’t actually unmix the tracks but it’ll recognise when the track starts and finishes and dulls the sound of the track that it mixes out of and into, leaving you with the track you wanted. For example, you’re listening to your favourite Boiler Room set on Youtube and you hear a track in the middle that you really like but you have no idea what it is. With unmix you’ll be able to highlight the track and have it playing on your controller in a matter of seconds. This totally eliminates those times when you spend hours looking for track IDs and also opens up DJs back catalogues, unreleased tracks and tracks that are exclusive to that particular mix,” he continued zealously. “You’ll never have to actually dedicate time and effort into researching and discovering artists. It’s all done for you.”
“Another unique function of Youmix is a built in VJing function. This will allow you to create an audio-visual show using any videos that you can find on Youtube. It will be responsive to the music and we’ve put all sorts of effects in there that will allow you to tweak the videos into something really original and unique to your set. So you could have one video of a cat being cute and another of a fat person falling, anything goes. Youtube is your oyster. You’ll also be able to layer videos on top of each other so you’ll always be able to come up with something new no matter what the occasion. There will also be a USB projector available to buy that will allow you to project your visuals straight from your computer onto any flat surface,” said the tech savvy spokesperson. “So whether it’s a projector screen, your bedroom wall or Tiesto’s skull with the unique VJing software you’ll be able to project your choice of visuals.”
“All in all, this will be the ultimate DJ controller, it’s going to change the entire industry,” he concluded confidently.
BRILLIANT , been saying this would be a good idea for years. Look forward to purchasing this!
